Meet Yanover Blanco STORIES & INSIGHTS Meet Yanover Blanco STORIES & INSIGHTS16 HOURS AGO Share This Article Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yanover Blanco. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below. Yanover, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success? In the beginning to be successful in business it will take one of two things. A lot of money or a lot of time, maybe both. You have to be willing to put the work in on the front end to be able to reap the rewards in the long term. The successful entrepreneurs that you see living comfortably and not working hard are the ones that are reaping the benefits of their hard work. You are seeing them on the tail end. It’s important to remember that in the beginning you will have to work really hard to build the client base, the systems and have the know-how of running a business. Be prepared for the ups and downs and the hardship. When times are good make sure you are learning and growing. At the end of the day to be successful you need to have perseverance! Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.I got into the construction industry during summers in my high school years. In my family and culture work ethic is extremely important and my father would “make” me work in construction during my summer breaks. From a very young age I wanted to be in business and you do what you know so when it came time to start a business I started in construction, not knowing how long I would stay in the field. Here I am 20 years later and I am on my second business. Part of my personality is that I need to grow, I need new goals and challenges or I feel dissatisfied. For that reason I have kept learning new things and working on different and more complex projects until I found that I had the experience and the education to get my license as first a Residential Contractor and later as a General Contractor (unlimited). I am very proud of my journey because I can say that I have a wide breadth of knowledge and experience from working with many different trades and I find that that experience has paid off in the expertise that I bring to clients. With my Company, Yanover Construction, clients can expect to have knowledgeable personnel working on their project and striving for excellence in a way that you just don’t see anymore. We are constantly streamlining our services and making our processes more and more efficient which translates to a better experience for our clients. Our work culture is one where we think about the long-term. We don’t want a client for one project we want a client for a lifetime, one that will tell their network about us. Can you talk to us about your experience with selling businesses?I sold out of my last business where my father and I were partners. The big lesson that I learned was that you have to plan on selling your business even if you don’t see that ever being the plan. You have to plan for the unexpected. I did not have a written agreement that detailed how the business would be valued and what the process of selling would be. I ended up at an incredible disadvantage, negotiating against my own Father to make sure that I was not taken advantage of. You may think that a friend or family member will have your interests in mind but when money is involved people see things from a perspective that benefits them. When you are doing business with friends or family you might not expect things to go sideways but you have to plan for it. Having an agreement in place to resolve conflicts or to part ways in the event that it happens will help you find, either a solution and an incentive to stay or to find the best way out that is agreeable to all parties. That is a lesson I had to learn the hard way. Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation? In everything you do, remember that your reputation is always at stake. I always strive to deal honestly with my clients and keep my promises. At Yanover Construction we promise quality and we know that we have to deliver. We communicate well and we make sure that our personnel have all of the tools they need to deliver a great finished product. This is the foundation of building a reputation but in today’s online world you have to ask your clients for reviews or for them to serve as a reference. From the very start we implemented a strategy for requesting reviews from clients consistently and together with our excellent service that has ensured that we have a strong online reputation. With the same system we have kept in touch with our clients to make sure that if someone in their network needs our service, they will remember to pass our name along. This is one of our best investments. Contact Info:
