Meet Yanover BlancoJuly 14, 2023 Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yanover Blanco. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below. Hi Yanover , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from? I got my work ethic from my mother and father, who are immigrants from Latin America. Their journey to achieve the American dream, starting with nothing, meant that they had to work hard to make it. I draw inspiration from their sacrifices, and I was raised with a deep understanding of the meaning of hard work. My father, a stern man, insisted that I grow up to be an upstanding and hardworking person. His influence shaped my work ethic greatly. As a result of their guidance and my own determination, I have translated this strong work ethic into real-world achievements. I had the opportunity to found a company alongside my father, leveraging our combined skills, knowledge, and work ethic to build a successful venture. Together, we navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship, learning valuable lessons along the way and embracing the rewards of our joint efforts. Furthermore, I took the leap to establish another company on my own, driven by my personal ambition and the foundations instilled in me by my parents. With a firm belief in hard work and resilience, I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, facing the unique trials and triumphs that come with building a business from scratch. Through relentless dedication and a steadfast work ethic, I have been able to make my individual venture flourish, continuing to pursue my own version of the American dream. These experiences have further solidified my understanding of the power of hard work, perseverance, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. I credit my mother and father for instilling in me the values of diligence, determination, and a relentless pursuit of success. Their unwavering support and the example they set through their own endeavors have shaped me into an individual who thrives on challenges, embraces hard work, and is driven to make a positive impact in the world through my entrepreneurial pursuits. Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself? Thank you for your interest in learning more about my story and professional focus. As a Licensed Commercial General Contractor and an entrepreneur, I am deeply involved in the construction industry through my multiple businesses. What excites me the most about my work is the constant stream of new challenges that I encounter along the way. It is this drive for growth and the pursuit of reaching the next level that has led me to found multiple companies. I began my journey in the construction industry with a painting business, Fillo Painting & Exteriors, which served as a stepping stone towards expanding my expertise. Over time, I have acquired the necessary licenses and certifications to establish myself as a licensed general contractor through my Construction company, Yanover Construction. This transition has allowed me to broaden the scope of my services and take on more diverse and complex projects. One of my current aspirations is to franchise my painting business. Through this endeavor, I aim to share my knowledge and experiences with aspiring entrepreneurs, providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed in the industry. It brings me great joy to be able to pass on everything I have learned and help others on their entrepreneurial journey. Additionally, I am thrilled to share that my general contracting business is now venturing into more commercial projects. This expansion opens up exciting opportunities for growth and development within my field. The prospect of taking on larger-scale commercial projects and making an impact in that sector is a thrilling aspect of my ongoing journey. Aside from my work in the construction industry, I am also an active participant in Toastmasters. Toastmasters provides a valuable platform for me to develop my public speaking and leadership skills. This involvement allows me to continually grow both personally and professionally, enhancing my ability to communicate effectively and connect with others. My passion lies in entrepreneurship and currently by way of the construction industry, and I am driven by the thrill of new challenges and opportunities for growth. I am dedicated to making a difference in the field through my businesses, and I am excited about the future prospects, including the potential franchise of my painting business and the expansion into commercial work. Additionally, my engagement with Toastmasters helps me refine my communication skills and expand my network. Thank you for the opportunity to share my journey with your readers. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on? Reflecting on my journey, I believe the three most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that have shaped my success are resilience, communication, and work ethic. These aspects have been instrumental in overcoming obstacles, connecting with others, and maintaining the drive necessary for entrepreneurial endeavors in the construction industry. For those who are early in their journey, I have the following advice on developing and improving these essential qualities: Resilience: Building resilience is crucial for navigating the challenges and setbacks that often arise on the path to success. To develop resilience, embrace a growth mindset and view failures as learning opportunities. Seek to understand the lessons hidden within each setback and use them to fuel personal and professional growth. Surround yourself with a support system that encourages and uplifts you during difficult times. Additionally, taking care of your physical and mental well-being through self-care practices can enhance your resilience. Communication: Effective communication is vital for selling yourself, your services, and building relationships in your industry. To improve communication skills, actively seek opportunities to practice and refine your ability to convey ideas clearly and confidently. Engage in public speaking activities, join networking events, and participate in workshops or courses that focus on effective communication techniques. Listen actively, ask questions, and seek feedback to enhance your understanding and articulation of your own message. Continually hone your communication skills, as they will be indispensable in conveying your value and building connections. Work Ethic: Entrepreneurship, particularly in industries like construction, demands a strong work ethic. To cultivate this quality, dedicate yourself to becoming an expert in your field. Pay your dues by seeking opportunities to learn and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge. Embrace hard work, discipline, and perseverance. Set goals, prioritize tasks, and consistently follow through with your commitments. Continually challenge yourself to go the extra mile and exceed expectations. Remember, success often comes from the combination of passion, dedication, and consistent effort. Finally, my advice for those starting their journey is to focus on building strong relationships within your industry. Cultivate genuine connections with peers, mentors, and potential clients. Attend industry events, join professional organizations, and engage in networking opportunities. Building relationships will not only expand your knowledge base but also provide valuable support and open doors to new opportunities. In summary, prioritize resilience, communication, and work ethic in your journey. Embrace setbacks as learning experiences, enhance your communication skills through practice and seeking feedback, and commit to a strong work ethic. Continuously seek growth and improvement in these areas, and remember the importance of building relationships within your field. By following these principles, you can pave the way for success in your entrepreneurial endeavors. Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with? Yes, I am open to partnering and collaborating with individuals through franchising. Franchising offers a mutually beneficial relationship where both parties can thrive. As a franchisor, I can provide collaborators with mentorship, expertise, and the support necessary to establish and grow their own successful business. In turn, they benefit from my investment in their success, as our fates are aligned. I am particularly interested in collaborating with individuals who possess an entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering determination. The business world requires resilience and the ability to overcome challenges, and I am seeking partners who exhibit these qualities. Additionally, I value working with individuals who have a clear vision for their future and a drive to make it a reality. If you are reading this and interested in collaborating, I encourage you to reach out to me. You can connect with me by emailing me at [email protected]. Please include relevant details about your background, aspirations, and any other information you believe would be beneficial for our potential collaboration. I look forward to exploring the possibility of working together and mutually contributing to each other’s success. Contact Info:

Meet Yanover Blanco STORIES & INSIGHTS Meet Yanover Blanco STORIES & INSIGHTS16 HOURS AGO Share This Article Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yanover Blanco. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below. Yanover, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success? In the beginning to be successful in business it will take one of two things. A lot of money or a lot of time, maybe both. You have to be willing to put the work in on the front end to be able to reap the rewards in the long term. The successful entrepreneurs that you see living comfortably and not working hard are the ones that are reaping the benefits of their hard work. You are seeing them on the tail end. It’s important to remember that in the beginning you will have to work really hard to build the client base, the systems and have the know-how of running a business. Be prepared for the ups and downs and the hardship. When times are good make sure you are learning and growing. At the end of the day to be successful you need to have perseverance! Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.I got into the construction industry during summers in my high school years. In my family and culture work ethic is extremely important and my father would “make” me work in construction during my summer breaks. From a very young age I wanted to be in business and you do what you know so when it came time to start a business I started in construction, not knowing how long I would stay in the field. Here I am 20 years later and I am on my second business. Part of my personality is that I need to grow, I need new goals and challenges or I feel dissatisfied. For that reason I have kept learning new things and working on different and more complex projects until I found that I had the experience and the education to get my license as first a Residential Contractor and later as a General Contractor (unlimited). I am very proud of my journey because I can say that I have a wide breadth of knowledge and experience from working with many different trades and I find that that experience has paid off in the expertise that I bring to clients. With my Company, Yanover Construction, clients can expect to have knowledgeable personnel working on their project and striving for excellence in a way that you just don’t see anymore. We are constantly streamlining our services and making our processes more and more efficient which translates to a better experience for our clients. Our work culture is one where we think about the long-term. We don’t want a client for one project we want a client for a lifetime, one that will tell their network about us. Can you talk to us about your experience with selling businesses?I sold out of my last business where my father and I were partners. The big lesson that I learned was that you have to plan on selling your business even if you don’t see that ever being the plan. You have to plan for the unexpected. I did not have a written agreement that detailed how the business would be valued and what the process of selling would be. I ended up at an incredible disadvantage, negotiating against my own Father to make sure that I was not taken advantage of. You may think that a friend or family member will have your interests in mind but when money is involved people see things from a perspective that benefits them. When you are doing business with friends or family you might not expect things to go sideways but you have to plan for it. Having an agreement in place to resolve conflicts or to part ways in the event that it happens will help you find, either a solution and an incentive to stay or to find the best way out that is agreeable to all parties. That is a lesson I had to learn the hard way. Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation? In everything you do, remember that your reputation is always at stake. I always strive to deal honestly with my clients and keep my promises. At Yanover Construction we promise quality and we know that we have to deliver. We communicate well and we make sure that our personnel have all of the tools they need to deliver a great finished product. This is the foundation of building a reputation but in today’s online world you have to ask your clients for reviews or for them to serve as a reference. From the very start we implemented a strategy for requesting reviews from clients consistently and together with our excellent service that has ensured that we have a strong online reputation. With the same system we have kept in touch with our clients to make sure that if someone in their network needs our service, they will remember to pass our name along. This is one of our best investments. Contact Info:

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yanover Blanco and we’ve shared our conversation below. Hi Yanover, what role has risk played in your life or career? Risk taking has been a requirement in my life and career of being a business owner and entrepreneur. There is risk in everything that you do and because there is risk there is a reward. Risk is part of what life is made of. The excitement for doing things would not be there if it were not for risk. The gratification of success would not be there if there wasn’t some chance that things would not work out. The feeling of accomplishment would not be as great if there was no risk. I embrace risk and accept the challenge because I know that the payoff will make it all worthwhile and if I fail it will make me stronger for the next round. Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more? What sets me apart is my perseverance and persistence. If I make a mistake or fail, I learn from it and continue moving forward. I am proud to say that I have learned that the only road to success is to prepare and plan, persist and persevere even when times are difficult. There will always be difficulties and the ones that press forward will be the ones that succeed. Getting to where I am today has definitely not been easy, I have been able to overcome obstacles and challenges by not allowing my failures to defeat me but by learning from them. A lesson that I have learned along the way is that you can’t rest on your laurels. You will have peaks and troughs in your journey and the only way to keep moving onward and upward its to maintain momentum. I want the world to know that I strive to do the best I can everyday and smile in the face of adversity because I know that success is always around the corner. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to? If someone was visiting here in Atlanta I would take them to see all of the historical sites and landmarks. Places like Stone Mountain, Oakland Cemetery and Centennial park. Places with history and significance are the ones that you will remember the most and I want anyone visiting to create memories. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to? I recognize that I would not be where I am if it were not for so many people that laid the foundation for me to be able to accomplish what I have. My parents efforts in raising me with values and character made a huge difference in my life. They immigrated to this country like so many others to make a better life for their children and without them I would not have the opportunities that I have today. I am grateful to so many teachers and professors that took the time to encourage me and who gave their heart and soul to making sure that I understood and absorbed the knowledge that they had to offer. I recognize that for anyone to succeed it takes the help of those around us and I am grateful for the encouragement and also for the ones that did not encourage me but with their discouragement motivated me even more to succeed. Website: www.yanoverblanco.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yanover_blanco/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/yanover-blanco-52893039/ This was a remarkable experience with an amazing Cohort. The course work was beneficial and challenging but the most significant benefit was getting to know the fellow participants. It was truly inspiring to get to know so many people with similar backgrounds that are doing such amazing things with their lives. We learned the value of serving our community in registering voters and engaging with our community through the different projects that we worked through. Working together as a group towards these remarkable goals was a powerful learning experience that I will always carry with me.

Hispanic Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs Born in Houston Texas, Yanover Blanco currently owns a construction company and is a licensed commercial general contractor. Previously, Yanover owned another construction company which he sold ownership of and started a new one. Soon after, he was able to use the lessons he learned and apply them to his new company. "It's not about getting stuck in the day-by-day grind...if you're stuck you will not be able to grow," says Yanover, "It's important to set time aside and allow others to step in and take other responsibilities so you can do the planning. Don't take on everything just because you can." For Yanover, it's more about looking at things in a bigger picture. "Don't get caught up in the present. Think about what will be of you in 10 years. Be resilient because things don't happen overnight." |
